So far I've managed to find an oil change pan that is a 16" diameter and 4" tall for $3 a pop at the auto parts store. Pretty easy, and you'll keep the fabric pots much cleaner without the dirt. Something else I though about is cleanup. So it's doing the same overall as a standard Dutch bucket, but we're replacing the bucket with a fabric pot and moving the water containment to an outer shell. Heck, a 1" gap may work, but I'm not sure. I'm just guessing on the 2"-3" gap and it being sufficient enough for an air gap so that air pruning works. That would make for a 16"-18" tray to give a 2"-3" gap all the way around. Thinking for fabric pot size, either a 7gal square (which is ~12" on all sides), or 5gal round (which is 12" diameter and 10" high.) With a 2" water level, and only a 3"-4" high tray, you want to make sure it drains faster than the max input. This would make for 2 drains instead of 1, but would also help curb overflow situations. The outside is the same, but once it comes into the tray, I think into a tee, and then have the drains there. I'm thinking of a slight deviation from the standard Dutch bucket due to the fabric pot. You would probably lose the air pruning in the bottom 4" though, so probably not a great idea. I'm thinking that a 2"-3" gap around all edges should be sufficient, but maybe the answer to the light issue is to just have the pot fit the tray without a gap. So other than the change for the fabric pot, the rest of the Dutch bucket concept is the same. Could be felt, could be reflective sheeting, whatever. Would have to find a way to block that, either by finding a tray with a lid, or making some kind of cover/sock to go around the pot that covers the gap between the edge of the pot and the tray. ![]() However, the perlite should be wicking up from the bottom, so maybe it's not so bad.Īt face value, the biggest issue I see is light and its introduction to the outer tray. Bringing a fabric pot into play, the number of watering cycles may need increased to combat the quicker drying out. It almost becomes like an octo-pot concept, but a bit different. So you get the benefit of air pruning, plus the benefit of the dutch bucket. The idea would be to have that water res, just the same as the bucket, but you're simply taking the sides down and using a fabric pot. Now taking the nuances aside for a minute (like light on the outside tray, etc), could that work? "What if" I were to take say, a 3" or 4" tall tray that was 14"-16" either square or diameter, and then put a fabric pot inside of that? This part is where my deviation comes in. Easy peasy cleanup, and perlite doesn't escape or clog the overflow drain. Put strainer in bucket, add perlite to that. One of the tips for a system like this is to use a paint strainer bag (mesh bag that fits in a 5gal bucket) to keep the perlite in. The big thing for this is the water in the bottom. But here is where my mind started to wander on the "what if's" and such. It also wicks up moisture from the bottom, etc.Īll this I get. As it's not constantly watered, plenty of O2 for the roots. Perlite being inert, and holding moisture, works well and cannot be over watered. So the main parts from this I get are that the bottom water level is sort of a way to mimic the bottom of a normal pot that usually holds a constant moistness. This replaces the bottom water, plus hydrates the perlite. Then you fill the bucket with perlite, and water it 4-6 times per day. So for a quick recap/overview, you take a bucket, put an overflow on it so there is a 2" or so water level in the bottom. ) about certain aspects of this and that. Then I got to thinking (yes, here I go again. So I'm curious on Dutch buckets, and am planning an experimental run at some point to see how it goes. ![]() ![]() Outpatients, healthcare professionals who prescribe to outpatients, pharmacies, and distributors are required to enroll in the program.Prolonged use of fentanyl sublingual spray during pregnancy can result in neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome, which may be life-threatening if not recognized and treated. ![]() Assess patient’s risk before prescribing and monitor regularly for these behaviors and conditions.Fentanyl sublingual spray is available only through a restricted program called the TIRF REMS Access program. Suzanne shared another effective tactic with me: When my nephews go work on her farm, she asks them to urinate on her hostas. This method can also add more security to commercial wildlife fencing, so deer avoid the barrier altogether and don’t try to leap it. Deer saw streamers fluttering in the wind and didn’t try running straight through barbed wire. Tie plastic flagging, baling twine, or cloth strips to the wire so it’s visible. I saw this second idea often in Idaho since many ranchers can’t afford to replace fencing around 200 acres. Many companies, which sell wildlife and deer fencing intended exactly for that purpose, strengthen top and bottom with higher-gauge wire that is a solid, noticeable color. And if you keep it tight enough, attaching to upright posts, there are no loose ends that can entangle legs. It’s easier to see so they often don’t try to jump it. An eight-foot wooden fence is expensive, so try rolls of dedicated deer and orchard fence. Use the same deer netting or deer fencing but surround only what you want to be protected. If your fence is only four feet tall, extend poles, or install more poles, so you can add another roll of wire. Whitetail deer can clear up to eight feet. Though eight-foot deer fencing isn’t the only option, it’s one of the best. But this privacy fencing, often made of solid wood or fiberglass slats, can be expensive. They may smell luscious cabbage but don’t know if danger also awaits. Some homeowners install privacy fencing that has no gaps since deer won’t pursue what they can’t see. The University of Vermont has some great ideas, and I’ve seen all of these in action. Keep your garden safe, and your family fed, with DIY fence installation. Linda’s deer fencing saga ended with eight-foot estate fencing. Linda acknowledged fencing mistakes, bought barbed wire, and increased the fence height to four feet. Then her goats joined in, escaping their pasture and joining the buffet. The dog didn’t help she curled up under the porch and slept. She replaced the cabbage just in time for spring fawns to join the feast. We are verifying this,” said VS Kundu, chief executive officer of GMDA. We are suspecting that the motor pumps installed by DLF were either not working or working at a limited capacity. GCR does not have any drains on the surface and as a result rainwater from across the road flows down towards the underpasses. “We are still examining the reason behind the waterlogging of the underpasses on GCR as it has occurred for the first time at this particular stretch. Starting in 2018, all of HSVP’s drains were transferred to the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA). On Wednesday, HSVP’s pipeline was choked especially at the line connected to DLF Phase 1 underpass due to which the entire rainwater flowed back and inundated the underpass,” said the executive, who requested anonymity. “At each of the three underpasses, we have a chamber located below the underpasses where rainwater is stored and is pumped out from our motors towards the HSVP’s master line. Underpasses at Genpact Chowk and Bristol Chowk were drained of flood waters by Wednesday evening, but the one at DLF Phase 1 proved to be more challenging.Ī DLF executive said the main HSVP drain through which the underpasses’ drainage system is connected was choked and as a result, the rainwater flowed back. This addition to the car came in 1970 and essentially acted as a part of the fifth thunderbird's facelift and attempted to give the Thunderbird the beak of an Eagle, incredibly patriotic. Legendary designer Larry Shinoda, of Corvette fame and thus a fan of pointed noses in his work, penned the beak. Others refer to this as simply a “long nose”, like the one found on the 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix. At this time, the manager introduced a design quirk to the Ford Thunderbird called the Bunkie Beak by enthusiasts. Upon leaving GM, “Bunkie" became the President of Ford for a very brief stint. Joining the company before the United States had entered the Second World War, he worked his way up the ranks of Pontiac before departing in 1968. Semon “Bunkie” Knudsen had a long and successful history as a General Motors executive. Two legends from GM came together at Ford to create the eagle like beak of the Thunderbird in 1970. In 1970 the Thunderbird not only was the height of luxury but could also had the performance to match, accelerating to 60 mph in less than 8 seconds. By 1970 the Lincoln Continental Mark III shared the four-door Thunderbird chassis, and well into the 70's these were related cars sharing a great deal of engineering DNA. However, with the introduction of the Mustang in the early 60's, Ford's ponycar took on the fight with GM's Corvette and later the Camaro and the Thunderbird was then marketed as a personal luxury car for the executive class in need of a luxurious vehicle that was above the more youthful and economy-based Mustangs. The early two seat Thunderbirds of the 50's were intended to compete with the Chevrolet Corvette. The 1970 Ford Thunderbird and its facelift debut in 1970 is a very interesting automotive history story.
